IMPORTANT: EasyVFR is NOT free. It requires an in-app subscription to function. The subscription provides updated AeroData for Europe, USA, Canada & Australia / New Zealand, published in line with the 28 day AIRAC cycle. It includes a continuous feed of EuroControl NOTAMs, and weather data from official sources in the supported regions and from our contracted professionals.

EasyVFR aeronautical and weather data are included with an existing PocketFMS FFM license, or by a yearly subscription obtained as an in-app purchase after the app is installed:

EasyVFR is an aviation Moving Map which can be used for flight planning, GPS navigation and post-flight analysis on iOS devices (minimum iPhone 6 and/or iPad Air). With EasyVFR you can take your iPhone and iPad with you in the cockpit, plan your flight, and follow your route on a moving map, always confident of your position and the airspace and airports around you.

PocketFMS has been providing flight planning and moving map systems since 2003. PocketFMS AeroData is professionally maintained to the highest standards, including AIP updates, for Australia/New Zealand, Canada, Europe & the USA. The AeroData is used in a number of leading panel mounted avionics.

Pros and cons of EasyVFR app for iPhone and iPad

EasyVFR app good for

Facile, simple et puissant. Pas chère. Easy to use. Parfait pour iPhone et iPad.

i have not had the chance to use it in flight... seems a bit slow at the moment but maybe its because of my limited storage. i like the appearance, clearness of menue and the all in one solution (map, airspace, notam, wx, flightbook, flightplan, ...) for 150€ a year in my opinion a valueable aviation nav for vfr users! i used it on Win mobile 6.5 with htc hd 2 - also very good but a bit slow some times...

I am using PocketFMS since many years and am very satisfied. I do not know any other navigation tool having similar capabilities. Flight planning is very easy at the home PC, Flight logs can be printed within a minute, the charts are always up to date. The utility on iPad runs very stable and provides everything you need for a safe flight. I use it for almost every flight, even for the very short ones. Its a must - in particular for the price.

Im using EasyVFR for over a year now on my iPad. And its perfect ! Especially in combination with the "official" DFS ICAO-Charts, so it looks like the paper-version

Improves on every release and very usuable for long allready. The best value for Money for European VFR Flight (Works international)

Some bad moments

You have to be a member of their foundation to even start the app. Fees are in the three digits!

On iPad 1 (64Gb) and iPhone 3 GS (32Gb) get memory insufficient warning, click continue and crashes. App also requires subscription from website and send you INVOICE. They dont tell you how much before applying for registration. I have not received conformation or invoice yet because there appears to be a fault in the email confirmation and billing. Be careful with this App.

MSG. To programers; YOUR APP IS A WAIST OF TIME! Cant use unless registration is complete yet you provide no means to register. There is no sign up portal for new users on your website and no pricing is mentioned anywhere. App seems worth paying for if accessing where even remotely possible. At this point this app is JUNK!
